Just steps from Washington Park, this full remodel transforms a small home into a bright, flexible residence suited for contemporary family life. The original layout was divided and closed off; our goal was to open the spaces while maintaining moments of privacy and comfort. The kitchen, living, and dining areas were reconfigured into a single flowing zone, anchored by custom cabinetry and improved daylight access. Bathrooms were modernized with clean, natural finishes, and the basement was converted into a playroom and flex space, offering new utility without a footprint increase.
The backyard was treated as an extension of the home’s living space. A new deck, raised garden beds, and a tree-platform for kids animate the outdoor space, while a detached garage was upgraded for future ADU use. A balance of softscape and hardscape ensures year-round usability. With a minimalist material palette and strategic spatial edits, the home now supports the dynamic needs of a growing family while remaining grounded in its neighborhood setting.
